Kolacky: A Czech stapleCulinaryKolaches are a traditional daily Czechoslovakia filled sweet bread. With the immigration to America, Kolaches have evolved to look and taste different, with each baker making them to suit their region. Some are a closed bread roll, some are pastry-like and open, and yet another are more like a thumbprint cookie. All originate from Europe and all are filled with yummy preserves. Come learn about the history of Kolaches, create your own to take home, and enjoy the ethnic tastes of today. Please bring a larger flat container for your Kolaches. If you would like to bring an additional person to class to help prepare your dish(es), you may add them to your registration for an extra $5. You will work together from one set of ingredients.Winter 2026 -

Sourdough BreadCulinarySourdough has become popular as a healthier alternative to regular white or whole wheat bread. Although it has comparable nutrients, the lower phytate levels mean it is more digestible and nutritious. The prebiotics also help to keep your gut bacteria happy, and it may be less likely to spike blood sugar levels. Come to this class to make a dozen sourdough muffins and go home with other bread recipes and a small amount of starter to continue making sourdough at home. Bring a quart glass jar with a lid to class and a container for your muffins.Winter 2026
