With a grant from Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation (SMIF), New Prague Area Schools Early Learning was able to create 20 literacy kits. Each kit has 13 identical board books for group story time and some additional supplies like puppets, games, and manipulatives. Walk and Talk This gives parents and caregivers with children under age 8, an opportunity to connect with other moms, dads, nannies, grandparents and get in “steps.” A time to put on some comfy pants and lace up those tennis shoes for an hour of adult connection & movement. We will meet in the ECFE wing at 11:45 am. There will be a discussion question, a parenting tip and resources each week based on the interests of the group. Walk inside or out. Ms. Tara will be available to walk and connect with you too! You can pack a lunch for your little one and drop them off in the ECFE classroom. The class is free, but you do need to register for sib care. Cost is $30.00 per family per session.

Ages 3 months-5 years old This special evening opportunity is all about your family enjoying time together in an Early Childhood classroom. Each week there will be a new theme with art, math, science, sensory and more. The first hour will be parent-child exploration and play experiences. Then a robust circle time filled with singing, storytelling, and props. A parent and family teacher leads this class and welcomes older siblings (ages 6-8) to tag along for a "Magnificent Monday" evening.

Dust off those winter blues and join in the play. Let’s put your child’s imagination and problem solving skills to practice with blocks. There will be multiple areas set up in the ECFE wing to explore. We will end our time with a block themed circle. Register by 1/27/2026 $10/child, ages 1-5

Join us at the Central Education Campus parking lot for our FREE end of the year celebration. Children will have the opportunity to be up close to cool vehicles and meet the people that drive these special rigs. No pre-registration is necessary.

Ages birth - 5 yrs You choose if you will stay and play with your child or drop and go. A teacher will be in the classroom to provide a nurturing environment, movement,fun songs at circle time, and learning activities to encourage your child’s growth and independence. Parents take this time to do your grocery shopping,housework, appointments, meetup with a friend for coffee/lunch, or enjoy time to yourself OR stay in the classroom with your child and enjoy this time together! Come one time or as many as you would like. No need to register. If you choose to stay and play, there will be a $3.00/child or $6.00/family. If you choose to drop and go, there will be a charge of $5.00/per child.

Ages birth-5 yrs (no separation) Unstructured motor time in the CEC gym for the first hour, end class with a group activity led by a teacher. $3/child, $6/family, non walkers are free You do not have to pre-register, you will pay at the door

Your two and three year old is doing more and developing a unique personality. Come to the ECFE preschool room where parents and children participate in activities and circle time with an Early Childhood teacher before moving to a parent classroom for discussion. Parent topics will be centered around your interests and may include language development, potty training, tantrums and more. Sibcare is available.

Ages 1-5 Your child is busy, curious, changing and growing more independent every day. Enjoy music, movement and learning activities to encourage their growth and independence. Parent discussion will include talking about setting limits, home routines and rules, having realistic expectations and topics of special interest to you. Sibling care is available but you need to register for it.

Ages 3-5 This class is for parents and children who are currently attending preschool or planning to start preschool next year. Parents and children spend the first half of class participating in fun, learning activities together that have been planned by a teacher. During the second part of class, children remain in the preschool classroom with the teacher while parents meet with a Parent Educator. Topics will include getting your child ready for preschool and kindergarten, development of family relationships, discipline and behavior. Sibling care is available but you must register your child(ren) for sibcare.

Ages 3-5 yrs Come and explore the preschool classroom with your child. Class includes parent/child school readiness activities and circle time. Parents separate for the last half of class and discuss parenting topics of their choice.
