This course focuses on low pressure steam and hot water heating boilers. It is designed to prepare students to be more informed boiler operators and gain knowledge of boilers, codes, and practices, in preparation for the State of Minnesota boiler operator's exam. Classes are six hours and a series of practice exams will be administered during class that each student may keep for review. State exam applications and affidavit forms will be provided. These must be pre-approved and pre-paid at least 15 calendar days prior to taking the State exam. Exams are offered by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry in Saint Paul on most Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. You can find a full schedule of exam locations and dates here. Special/2C students may not need this book, but the instructor highly recommends for 1C & Chief students.
