Winter Cheerleading

The New Prague Cheer Team is looking for athletes who are hard working, dedicated and have a team first attitude. As a sideline cheer team, we will cheer at the high school boy's basketball and hockey games. The team practices two times a week and learns Trojan cheers, game day material, stunting and more.

Open to grades 8-12. Previous cheer experience is not required. Team placements (varsity vs JV) will be made depending on team numbers and after assessing skill level of the participants.

Other Information:

Practice is located in the high school cafeteria and is on Mondays and/or Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00 pm. Varsity/JV game days vary.

Team uniforms will be provided and they need to be returned in good condition at the end of the season. Cheerleaders are expected to purchase additional cheer items including cheer shoes, spandex, poms, cheer bow, etc.

A current MSHSL Eligibility Form and Sports Physical Form is required for all athletes. Sports physicals can be completed through your primary care physician or many walk-in clinics and even at some urgent care locations. The completed forms can be sent to Coach Julie (jsmith@isd721.org).  If you are wondering if your cheerleaders' physical is up to date, please email.
