Save on Your Car Insurance with Minnesota Safety Council’s Defensive Driving
If you are 55 or older, save money on your car insurance premiums and become a better driver! Minnesota law requires insurance companies to offer you a 10% reduction for three years if you complete the Minnesota Safety Council's Defensive Driving Course, taught by professional, certified instructors. The course is one 4-hour session, no driving or test required. You will receive a certificate of completion to provide to your insurance company. Effective July 1, 2024, the 4-hour defensive driving program can be taken for the initial and the refresher courses. Details here.
This is an online course offered via Microsoft TEAMS. It will be lead virtually by an instructor and will be interactive. You will be emailed the link, Meeting and passcodes to the class. If you do not have access to a computer at home, choose a daytime class option when you register and participate in the online class from the Central Education Campus - Classroom D221.
