T-shirt/Jersey Quilt
T-shirt quilts are a fabulous way of preserving special memories from your favorite vacation, sports, school years, plays, etc. They make great gifts for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries and graduations. This class walks you through the steps needed to create and design a 72" X 90" keepsake t-shirt quilt using your favorite t-shirts, sweatshirts or jerseys. This class is for anyone! No quilting experience is needed but you must have access to a sewing machine and be able to use it.
Additional supplies such as fabric for sashing, borders and binding can be purchased from instructor or on your own. Ten yards of fabric is required to complete this quilt. Specific yardage as well as ways to quilt the top will be discussed at the first class. Down Under Quilting offers class participants a special of $95 to professionally machine quilt your t-shirt quilt. Class fee includes $25 of interfacing for the back of the t-shirts.
Bring to the first class:
- 20 t-shirts, washed using no fabric softener or dryer sheets
- Scissors
- 45 mm rotary cutter (if you have one)
You do not need to bring your sewing machine to the first class.
